SHE was bright, enthusiastic and full of energy.

Those were just some of the tributes to an Oxfordshire children’s worker killed in a crash on Oxford’s ring road.

As reported on Monday, Amy Reynolds, of Wheatley, was killed when her blue VW Golf left the A40 Northern Bypass near Oxford’s Green Road Roundabout in wintry conditions on Saturday.

The 26-year-old had worked with children at a number of places in Oxfordshire, including John Watson School in Wheatley.

Headteacher Sally Withey said: “She was a lovely, committed, bright and enthusiastic girl, so full of energy.

“Everybody remembers her as someone full of energy and wonderful at her job, gifted at working with disabled children.

“It was quite a shock to everybody to hear of this.

“She combined working with us with her studies so people remember her as a wonderful, hard-working girl.”

Miss Reynolds, who was not married and had no children, attended Sandhills Primary School in Terrett Avenue, Sandhills, and Wheatley Park School in Holton.

A Facebook page set up in her memory revealed a life spent helping those less fortunate than herself and making friends all over the world.

Miss Reynolds also worked in the creche at Esporta health club in Woodstock Road, Oxford, and colleagues there have also paid their respects online.

Former colleague Emma Burton wrote: “We worked together at Kids Club and you were amazing – the way you cared about those kids and how much they loved you showed me the kind of playworker I wanted to be. You would have been fantastic at whatever you set your heart to, it seems such a waste. I’m sure you’ll never be forgotten.”

Another former colleague, Katy Gardner, said: “You were such an amazing person when I worked with you at Esporta. Rest in peace. Lots of love to you and your family during this difficult time.”

Local musicians have talked of writing a song dedicated to her memory. Her cousin Harry Trueman, 21, of Wheatley, who performs as Mr Haz, said he and his friend would compose a song to remember her by.

An inquest into Miss Reynolds’s death has been opened and adjourned at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court.
