Protest plan over Assange speech
9:30am Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in News
Protests are expected outside the Oxford Union tomorrow after organisers invited Wikileaks founder Julian Assange as a guest speaker.
Mr Assange, currently claiming political asylum inside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, will appear via videolink as part of an awards ceremony on whistleblowing.
The protests are being organised by Simone Webb, president of the Oxford University LGBTQ society (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer) over the fact that he is wanted for extradition to Sweden over rape allegations.
Actor Sir Patrick Stewart was due to speak at the debating club last night.

Really clearly written article, not at all ambiguous.

Nice to know that this organisation believes in free speech. I will remember that the next time they are whining when someone is sacked, refused entry etc for their sexuality.

I do so hope both the reporter and editor embrace this opportunity to review ambiguous antecedents with their faculty advisor.
