The accident scene today
A MAN and a woman have been injured in a crash near Abingdon that closed Drayton Road.
The pair were heading towards Abingdon from Drayton when the crash happened at about 8.45am, with their green Volvo V40 flipping and ending up on its roof.
No other vehicle was involved and police are now trying to discover what caused the accident, Sergeant Kerry Clarke said.
The woman, who was a passenger, has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with what was described as a serious foot injury.
The driver suffered minor injuries and has also been taken t the JR.
Drayton Road was closed between its junctions with Preston Road in Abingdon and High Street in Drayton for more than four hours. It reopened shortly after 1pm.
Sgt Clarke said: “Although we are in the early stages of our investigation, we are trying to establish the full circumstances of what has happened. I would like to appeal to anyone who saw the collision happen, or the Volvo being driven beforehand, to contact us.”
Any witnesses can call Sgt Clarke on the police enquiry number 101.

Without knowing all the facts, as the car flipped it would seem very likely the accident wasn't due to exceeding the speed limit but instead due to a sudden change in direction or mechanical failure.
We need more proper policing to get useless drivers off the road, instead of nonsense like "Speed kills".
