Pedestrian critical in JR after car collision

A PEDESTRIAN was in a critical condition after a collision with a car in Cowley on Wednesday night.
The 49-year old man was involved in the accident with a blue C class Mercedes on Barns Road.
The incident happened at the crossing point just past Hockmore Street at around 10pm.
The man was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital.
The driver of the blue Mercedes, a 32-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact PC Rodgerson of the Roads Policing team on 101.
They would also like to speak to anyone who was on Barns Road at the junction with Between Towns Road just prior to the incident.
