An Oxfordshire County Council spokesman said it had received a briefing the from the agency today that said there were "no immediate flooding concerns".
The spokesman added: "The county council is assuming this remains the position until tomorrow morning unless we hear otherwise from the Environment Agency.
"We will receive another briefing at 11am tomorrow and will update the position after that."
The Met Office's forecast for the city is cloudy for the rest of Christmas Day, heavy rain Boxing Day into the early hours of Thursday and heavy rain early Saturday.
