THE tree is up, the presents have been bought and another Christmas is almost upon us.
We really do deserve to have a happy, stress-free one this year.
For many, these have been another tough 12 months.
The economy is still flatlining, bills go on rising and the prospects for 2013 are uncertain, to say the least.
Our servicemen and women continue to face daily dangers in foreign fields and closer to home spare a thought for those who live alone, are homeless or who have lost loved ones in 2012.
So far, so gloomy. But when times are tough, there is all the more reason to count our blessings and do our best to have the happiest, most peaceful Christmas we can with those we love the most.
In the 24-hour hubbub of the 21st century, it is still a special day and one on which the outside world should be shut out. We hope yours exceeds your expectations without adding anything to your waistlines.
A very happy Christmas to each and every one of you.
