THE young men pictured behind day 24 of our Badvent calendar are thought to have helped themselves to baskets full of booze which went missing from a convenience store.

The Oxford Mail and Thames Valley Police have been publishing pictures of wanted suspects every day this month in a bid to get them arrested before the year ends.

At about 8.50pm on Saturday, December 15, three men walked into the One Stop shop in Wootton, near Abingdon, and filled up their shopping baskets with alcohol.

They then left the shop without paying – getting away with beer and other alcohol of an unknown value.

Police described the men as white, aged between 18 and 25, with dark hair.

Det Sgt Richard Pickering, from St Aldate’s Police Station, said: “The CCTV images are particularly clear and we are sure someone knows who they are. If you recognise these men, please get in touch with us.”

High up on Thames Valley Police’s Christmas list is the man behind our Badvent calendar’s final door, who has been convicted of importing more than £250,000 worth of cocaine.

Uxoma Ilomuanya, of Alexander Close, Kidlington, was charged with importing the Class A drug last January but did not show up at court and has not been seen since.

He was found guilty in his absence at Isleworth Crown Court on October 18.

The 46-year-old is due to be sentenced on January 18. Police believe he could now be in Oxford.

He is described as of Nigerian origin, of a heavy build and about 5ft 11ins. They also said he wears glasses.

Det Sgt Pickering said: “Ilomuanya continues to evade justice but now he has been convicted, we are committed to making sure he can’t carry on like that forever.

“It would be perfect to see him behind bars for the New Year.”
