Cannabis used in pain tests

The ability of cannabis to relieve pain differs greatly between people, Oxford University research suggests.

Researchers gave a pill including a cannabis compound and then applied a cream to their skin which causes a burning feeling.

The 12 participants then underwent an MRI scan to see how they responded.

Lead researcher Dr Michael Lee said: “Cannabis does not seem to act like conventional pain medicine. Some people respond really well, others not at all, or even poorly.”

This is obvious as everyone has different tolerances to pain, students at Oxford University probably just wanted an excuse to use the substance.
