SIX Oxfordshire waterways have been put on flood alert.
Heavy downpours over the weekend forced the Environment Agency to place the warnings on the River Thames and tributaries in the Oxford area from Wolvercote down to and including Radley and Jericho; the River Cherwell from Lower Heyford down to and including Oxford; the River Thame and Chalgrove Brook; the River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington and also the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock.
Flood alert is the Environment Agency’s amber warning level, which tells residents to prepare.
