BANBURY: An Oxfordshire soldier has been given an award for patching up her team after she had been badly injured by a bomb blast.

Lance Corporal Hayley Ridgeway, 24, from Banbury, was honoured at the Sun’s Millies ceremony, which will be screened on ITV this Friday at 9pm. The medic’s legs were blasted by shrapnel but she spent five and a half hours refusing to be helicoptered to hospital while she treated her injured platoon.
