Breakfast and books are the order of the day on Fridays at an Oxford primary school.

As part of a drive to get children reading, Marsh Baldon school runs breakfast sessions for pupils.

On Fridays, parents, grandparents and other carers are invited in to read with the children.

Parent governor Emma Timms said the sessions had proved very successful so far.

She said: “It’s fantastic. We provide a breakfast for the children and they come in and read.

“It’s a really successful event and the kids love it.”
