Rose Hill votes for new community centre

PEOPLE in Rose Hill have voted overwhelmingly for a new community centre.

The city council had held a vote, asking the people of the estate whether they wanted to centre in The Oval to be knocked down and replaced or to be refurbished.

More than 500 people voted, with 459 voting for option one - the rebuild - and 126 voting for option two - the refurbishment.

Two ballots were spoiled.
