LOOKING at the rising and fast flowing waters of our rivers, no one can be blamed for having flashbacks to that horrific July in 2007.
The floods of five years ago brought long lasting misery to hundreds.
Writing this last night, our county was bracing itself for the worst.
Yet the one crumb of comfort to remember is that the authorities are better prepared than in 2007.
Ultimately they can’t hold back everything but we hope their repeated reassurances that we are more able to cope with Mother Nature than in 2007 proves true over the coming days.
