Chef Hristo Yankov in his new Abingdon deli
THE owner of Kitson’s restaurant in Abingdon High Street has opened a deli next door, selling his own food.
Chef Hristo Yankov’s OX14 Deli, which opened on Monday in a former tobacconist’s, features his own cured meats and smoked salmon, pickles, chutneys and freshly baked bread.
Mr Yankov said: “It has gone very well so far.
“In my restaurant next door I have the facility to produce a lot of food, and I wanted a place to sell it on the High Street.
“To open a new business at this time, you have to be either really stupid or really brave.
“I think I am a bit of both, but I believe in the concept.”
