TEEMING with youngsters, the newly-transformed Blackbird Leys Adventure Playground was still missing one thing, according to its formation committee.
Now a lasting ‘thank-you’ to the people who helped breathe life back into it has been installed in the shape of a new noticeboard.
Management committee secretary said: “The noticeboard was an idea to thank people for all their help and hard work.
“It’s also something we can put in the playground to further remind people that we are here, and who we are. We do still need volunteers to come forward to help out.”
She added: “It’s amazing to think the adventure playground had been closed for years and some were convinced it wouldn’t ever get open.”
The playground in Blackbird Leys Road, which closed in December 2009, reopened in April thanks to grants from the parish council and other bodies, including £6,590 from the Gannett Foundation, the charitable arm of the Oxford Mail’s parent company.
