AN AMBITIOUS musical love story will be staged by Oxford University students.
Nightingale Productions is set to present Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music from tomorrow until Saturday at the Oxford Playhouse.
Set in Sweden in 1900, the show is from the award-winning composer of Sweeney Todd and Company and includes the well-known ballad Send in the Clowns.
Georgina Hellier, who plays Desiree Armfeldt, said: “It is so exciting to be in such an ambitious production and it is a privilege to perform on the Playhouse stage.
“I hope audiences will be thrilled to watch this Sondheim classic as much as we are to perform it.”
Aleks Cvetkovic, who plays Count Carl-Magnus, said: “We have poured our hearts and souls into this production, it has been a long and meticulous process as we wanted to do Sondheim justice.
“I hope that audiences will agree that the hard work has paid off.”
The show will feature a 25-piece orchestra and period costumes.
