Suspended sentence over indecent images
11:00am Monday 29th October 2012 in News
A FATHER who admitted making hundreds of indecent photos of children and possessing extreme pornography has been given a suspended sentence.
Laurence Linfitt, 45, of West Way, Oxford, admitted making 850 indecent images from 2009 to 2011 and possessing extreme pornography. The Internet images were discovered following a police raid.
Recorder John Hardy said: “These are real children in this who are real victims of the most depraved abuse.
“And were it not for the fact there were people willing to view this, these children would not have been subjected to that.”
Claire Fraser, defending, said Linfitt was of good character and had not replaced the computer.
He was given 12-month, six-month and four-month sentences, suspended for two years, to run concurrently. He will be on the sex offenders register for 10 years and is banned from using a computer which does not record its history.
