MICHELIN-starred chef Michael North visited Oxford to run a pop-up restaurant for one night only.
Mr North called in at Oxford & Cherwell Valley College, in Oxpens Road, on Monday, to give catering Students the chance to see what it was like to work in a restaurant environment.
He owns The Nut Tree in Murcott, near Bicester, where he lives, opening the gastropub in January 2007 and gained a Michelin star in January 2009, retained in 2010.
It also won a prestigious ‘Catey’ as best newcomer in the 2009 Hotel and Caterer Magazine awards. Students cooked for local restaurant employers to show what they could do. Mr North said: “It was really positive — the students were really enthusiastic and the night went brilliantly.
“We were happy with what we did. Hopefully we can go forward and hold another event in the future — anything we can do in the future to help, we would be more than willing to.”
