Man tells of chase to catch Bampton robbery suspect

A PAINTER and decorator has told about how he chased down a suspected robber who had stolen cash from his local post office.

Andrew Money had parked up outside Bampton post office on Saturday morning when he heard someone yelling and saw a man leave the building.

He said: “I saw one man come out of the post office and run down the road. It was an instinctive thing. I just thought ‘get him’.”

He said he grabbed a bag from the man before he fled.

Police officers have said two men went into the village’s post office in Bridge Street at about 9.30am, threatening the shop worker and punching her in the face, before stealing a four-figure sum of money.

Daniel Kisfaludi, 28, of no fixed address, has since been charged with robbery and appeared before Banbury magistrates yesterday.
