We all have good days and bad days. But, did you know that your emotional state has a huge effect on your physical health.

It is you who is in control of your brain and your body, and so it is you who will decide whether your world is going to be full of positivity, love and happiness or if you are going to spend days feeling negative, downbeat and miserable.

The decisions you make, what you think about – these have a huge influence on your body.

If you are a happy person this will have a positive effect on your fat burning hormones. If you are an angry, negative person this will cause your body to be in a constant state of catabolism, constantly breaking down tissue.

One of the major factors affecting our moods is the environment we live in.

If you are in an unhappy environment it is down to you to change this. If you dislike your job, are unhappy in a relationship, or surround yourself with negative people then eventually this is going to have a negative effect on your health.

When you are feeling happy your energy levels will be up and, more than likely, you will want to eat better and exercise more. Your hormones will be balanced because you are having positive thoughts.

If your body is in a constant state of depression and stress the hormone cortisol will be released. Remember this is the stress hormone, if there is too much of it going around the body it will prevent, or slow down, fat loss.

So what can you do change all this? It’s hard work and it takes practise. But you are in control of it. Here are a few tips: p Change your environment.

* Find other people to spend time with.

* End miserable relationships.

* Replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts.

* Meditate just 10 minutes a day.

Altering your mindset will change your body’s reaction to situations or events. All these things will take time and lots of practise but it can be done.

Start with these small changes: When you wake up on a Monday morning tired, fed up, not wanting to go to work – change your thought pattern to a positive one. You will feel better.

Next time you walk into the gym and feel you can’t face exercise, think happy thoughts. Your energy levels will increase and you will have a great workout.
