* Eminent Irish poet Micheal O'Siadhail is bringing his collection of poetry to Oxford. Spanning almost 40 years and covering everything from the Israeli/Palestinian conflict to the recent death of his wife from Parkinsons he will be reading from his latest book: Micheal O’Siadhail’s Collected Poems at Regent’s Park College, Oxford, on Monday, which is open to the public.

* Dashing magicians Morgan and West are touring their hit show Time Travelling Magicians to The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury on Tuesday.

* If your child is an aspiring performer they could join the stage version of one of the most popular and best-loved Christmas films of all time, Miracle On 34th Street which is coming to the New Theatre in December and is looking for Santa’s Little Helpers to feature in one of the scenes! The winners will also receive a family ticket to see the show on a date of their choice.

To apply, children should write a short letter addressed to Santa Claus telling him why they would like to meet him. All entries should be sent to Marketing Department, New Theatre, George Street, Oxford, OX1 2AG, by Monday, November 18.

* Earthfall Dance Company is coming to Oxford tomorrow with their Chelsea Hotel production, a contemporary dance piece based on the events and characters from the Chelsea Hotel’s past, including Dylan Thomas, Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, Mark Twain, Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller. Performed at Pegasus using dynamic dance, live music and film, this is a one-night only chance to discover more about it’s inhabitant’s lives.
