The week's stage news

  • THE acclaimed production of Dunsinane, the sequel to Shakespeare’s Macbeth by award-winning writer David Greig, comes to Oxford Playhouse on Tuesday to Saturday, September 17-21.

Macbeth is dead. Under cover of night, an English army has swept through the landscape, killed the tyrant and taken the seat of power. Attempting to restore peace and put a new ruler in place, Siward, the commanding officer, is beset by a brutal guerrilla uprising. Increasingly isolated from his own men and Scottish allies alike, his efforts to restore order appear futile as the situation spins out of control. As relevant now as the time it depicts, this compelling play is a must-see. Call the box Office on 01865 305305 or book online at oxfordplayhouse.com
