THE spectacular performance of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' left audience members dancing in their seats at the end of the show, crying out for more.

Starring former X Factor winner Joe McElderry as Joseph, the popular theatre comedy appeared at Oxford's New Theatre earlier this week.

In the famous Bible story, Joseph is cast out of his family by his 11 brothers after they became jealous of the brilliantly colourful coat their father bought him.

And the cast delivered it all; with the fun-loving brothers providing lots of laughter and Joe McElderry even bringing out goosebumps on some audience members with his stunning, emotional rendition of "Close Every Door To Me".

The narrator, 26-year-old soprano Lucy Kay, was one of the few cast members constantly on stage singing, and Emilianos Stamatakis played Pharaoh/Elvis with such conviction he received nearly the loudest cheer of all.

Theatre-goers certainly got their money's worth with this performance. The cheerful cast performed three more songs after taking their final bows, as the audience constantly clapped for endless encores.

'Joseph', with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is now touring across the UK. Visit atgtickets.com for more.
