At least Hulk Hogan is getting some support through these difficult times…

Or at least that’s what the former WWE wrestler, currently embroiled in a race row, seems to think.

Hogan had his contract terminated by WWE – and had nearly all references to him removed from the organisation’s website – after a video emerged of him using racist language. He later apologised.

He reached an apparent haven today as he retweeted messages of support apparently coming in from fans.

He didn’t realise, however, that many of them were not real, and featured pictures of celebrities including footballers Rio Ferdinand, Kolo Toure, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Martin Keown.

And yes, that is Drake in there too.

Also making an appearance were Romelu Lukaku, Adrian, Mauro Zarate and even Celtic’s Efe Ambrose.

As of this afternoon, he was yet to undo his retweets, suggesting he was either a big fan of obscure Premier League footballers and in on the joke, or that he hadn’t twigged the messages were fakes.

This is familiar territory for Hogan – real name Terry Bollea – who was previously duped into retweeting tasteless jokes about Madeleine McCann and Raoul Moat.

It seems he can’t resist hitting that retweet button…
