Sam Taylor-Johnson has revealed how she got embarrassed as she showed Beyonce footage of the Fifty Shades Of Grey film.
The British filmmaker shared a preview from the upcoming big-screen adaptation of EL James’ erotic novel at the singer’s home in Los Angeles, so she could get an idea of how her music could enhance the scenes.
“As the scene opened there was no context,” she told the Los Angeles Times.
“There wasn’t the slow meeting and the interview and the coffee shop, it was just, ‘Here’s a hardcore sex scene, hey, nice to meet you’ … I suddenly felt myself recoil. I suddenly thought, ‘This is really explicit, and I don’t even know this woman’.”
Sam added: “When the scene finished, Beyonce just went, ‘Wow, that was hot’. So I thought, ‘OK, that was fun. That was a good day at the office’.”
Remixes of Beyonce’s hits Crazy In Love and Haunted feature on the film’s soundtrack, alongside tracks by Ellie Goulding, Jessie Ware, Annie Lennox and Sia.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson star in the movie as lovers Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, with Rita Ora, Marcia Gay Harden and Jennifer Ehle amongst the supporting cast.
Fifty Shades Of Grey will open in UK cinemas on February 13.
