Straight after the first episode of Channel 4′s Cucumber came the show’s little brother show, Banana over on E4. It’s just as naughty, and possibly even ruder, but Banana focuses on the younger LGBT generation.
The series follows eight stories “celebrating love without labels”, including tonight’s episode about 19-year-old Dean (Fisayo Akinade), his lesbian mate’s quest for unrequited love. From the looks of tonight’s episode, we’ve got plenty to look forward to.
Banana is linked with Cucumber, and we’ll see more of Dean and Henry’s friendship as well as several characters’ plotlines crossing over.
After the roaring success of Cucumber, what did people think of Banana?
Lots of people liked the very *rude* mention of incredibly beautiful twins Jack and Finn Harries.
New fans of the show made heady use of the banana emoji. We expect to see plenty of bananas for weeks to come.
Overall, people seemed to warm to Banana just as much as they did Cucumber. Yay for Russell T Davies!
