Kimberley Walsh has revealed Cheryl Fernandez-Versini burst into tears the first time she saw her baby son Bobby.

Girls Aloud star Kimberley gave birth to her first child with partner Justin Scott at the beginning of September and told OK! magazine that her bandmate Cheryl wasted no time in coming to visit.

She said: "Cheryl was in town so when Justin texted saying he'd been born, she messaged and said, 'I'm in town, is it too soon?' I was like, 'There's probably a disturbing aftermath, but you can come'."

The singer went on: "She loves him. She did look slightly disturbed at the aftermath as she visited about an hour after the birth. I just don't think she could get her head around the fact that Bobby was there, I think it was a bit overwhelming for her and she cried when she saw him.

"Jean-Bernard (her husband) was with her and he said he needed to leave, as he couldn't cope - I think there was too much birthing conversation. He told Cheryl that he'd wait for her downstairs, which I think was probably wise as Cheryl wanted to know all the gory details... I fully appreciate it's quite full-on for a man."

She said of Cheryl's baby gift: "Cheryl spoiled him rotten. She bought him a full-on Fendi bomber jacket for when he's about six months. I laughed when I saw it, I said, 'Of course this is from you.' It's so cute. She's fully kitted him out with clothes, he'll be better dressed than us."

Kimberley said another of her bandmates, Nicola Roberts, had also been to visit: "She's a natural with Bobby, really calm. She's such a fabulous fashion girl that you don't think of her like that, but she was so good with him - it did seem like the most easy, natural thing in the world for her."

She added of other Girls Aloud stars Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle: "Sarah texted and said she'd really like to come and see him, which was really nice...

"Nadine tweeted but I haven't spoken to her. She knows what it's like, I guess. She tweeted about it being baby bootcamp and it's true, you do have a lot to learn in the first few weeks and she's probably in the slightly easier phase now."
