Katie Price has thanked fans for their support after sharing a photo of her disabled son Harvey in hospital.

Thirteen-year-old Harvey, who suffers from a rare genetic condition called Prader-Willi Syndrome, was preparing for a “routine operation”.

Photos showed him in a hospital gown, while Katie wrote: “My brave boy,” and captioned another photo: “Love him sooooo much.”

Former glamour model and mum-of-five Katie told the Daily Mirror: “Harvey is currently in Great Ormond Street Hospital for a routine operation.

“He will hopefully be out in a few days but I wanted to say how touched I am by all those asking about his wellbeing.”

One follower posted: “I hope that he’s going to be okay! He’s such a fighter, keep strong & most importantly Harvey keep fighting whatever it is, I hope it’s something simple and easy.”

Another posted a message to Katie reading: “Thinking of your brave boy you should be so proud he’s an absolute credit and never fails at making me smile.”

“Sending love to Harvey hope he will be ok? Get well soon,” one fan wrote.

Harvey, Katie’s eldest child, was diagnosed as blind at six weeks old – and later was found to have the genetic disorder Prader-Willi, which affects his behaviour and gives him an insatiable appetite.

The proud mum, who also has sons Junior and Jett, and daughters Princess and Bunny – recently opened up about the challenges of caring for her disabled son.

In the Channel 5 documentary Katie Price: In Therapy, she said: “Take everything else out of the equation, take my job out, take the men out, take all my other kids out: just me and Harvey on his own is a challenge,” revealing she struggled with feeling like a “failure” as a mother.

The 37-year-old released a list of Harvey’s diagnoses last month, as she spoke out against people who pick on him: “People keep picking on Harvey and about his weight and speech give him a break jeez.”

After sharing the photo, she added: “If you sick people still want to pick on him then you need mental help yourselves.”
