Pattinson to drop heartthrob image

Robert Pattinson has some diverse roles in the pipeline
Robert Pattinson has hinted that he is moving away from his movie heartthrob persona for future roles.
The actor found fame as the archetypal brooding lead Edward Cullen in the Twilight films and won himself a hoard of female fans in the process.
But he insisted "the next few things I'm doing are all quite different".
His latest projects have yet to be titled but he revealed one is "actiony and funny as well, and the next one after that is pretty strange".
"It's not like a cool part," R-Patz elaborated.
"He's a really strange person and a bit of a simpleton, which I haven't really done before... apart from in my real life," he laughed.
The actor seems to take his "cinema god" status in his stride, and said it can be useful in attracting a new audience to a film like his latest release, David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis.
"I've done three premieres for this and to see screaming teenagers coming in to see Cosmopolis is the craziest thing in the world," he said.
"One of the most interesting things about it I think is the fact that it's making two audiences collide.
"And if you get one out of every 500 people to get into Cronenberg movies who wasn't before then it's great."
