Peter Kay is set to return with his beloved Car Share this Christmas, keeping families happy as all of that enforced festive fun begins to drag.

During a special episode of the TV funnyman’s Comedy Shuffle on Christmas Eve, a brand new three-minute clip from Bafta award-winning Car Share will be shown.

Even though it’s a short clip it will no doubt keep his fans happy as Peter’s character John and his co-star Sian Gibson, who plays Kayleigh, get back behind the wheel for some top banter.

A source told The Daily Mirror: “Peter has been trying to keep it a secret but there will be a Car Share clip of around three minutes.

“It will keep fans who were begging for a full Christmas special happy until the second series starts next year.

“It’s the perfect Christmas gift for viewers as John turns to Kayleigh and asks why there are Christmas songs playing in the middle of the summer on the radio.”

The insider added: “Even though it’s only short, it’s a hilarious sketch.”

For those who perhaps have not seen Peter Kay’s Car Share, it involves John and Kayleigh – two supermarket staff – involved in a company car share scheme to get to work.

The colleagues have entertaining conversations while in transit in John’s Fiat 500, listening to Forever FM and just whiling away their commuting time.

The short clip will keep fans ticking over until the second series airs in May 2017.
