Professional dancer Ola Jordan has claimed she was prohibited from wearing catsuits during her time on Strictly Come Dancing because they were deemed ‘too sexy’.

She told The Mirror: “I loved wearing the catsuits but after a while they stopped me.

“I think they thought they were too sexy.”

A BBC spokesperson said: “Strictly isn’t the kind of show that ever imposes ‘bans’ and is always happy to work with the dancers on their outfits provided they are fitting for the particular dance they are doing that week.”

The Polish ballroom expert, 33, left the celebrity-based dancing programme in 2015 after appearing in 10 consecutive series.

During her decade on the show, Ola was known for wearing revealing outfits on the dance floor with her famous partners.

The last time she sported a catsuit was in 2011 while dancing the Salsa with former footballer Robbie Savage. She was also seen wearing one in 2008 opposite tennis star Andrew Castle.

Ola joined Strictly in 2006 along with husband James Jordan, and was crowned the champion once in her 10 years with journalist and presenter Chris Hollins in 2009.

She quit Strictly after appearing in the 2015 series, during which she was partnered with Olympic medallist Iwan Thomas.
