DEADWOOD

HBO president Michael Lombardo has given Deadwood creator David Milch the green light to produce a movie.

At the Television Critics Association press tour, Lombardo said: “David has our commitment that we’re going to do it.

“He pitched what he thought generally the storyline would be - and knowing David, that could change. But it’s going to happen.”

Yass! I love me some Al Swearengen (Ian McShane).

The Gem Saloon owner had the best one-liners, so I can’t wait to see what the writers whip up for the character a decade after the television show last finished.

XXX3

Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), Ruby Rose (OITNB) and Bollywood star Deepika Padukone are all being eyed-up for roles in xXx 3: The Return of Xander Cage.

If they sign, they’ll join main man Vin Diesel in the third film of the action franchise alongside Samuel L. Jackson who’s returning as Agent Gibbons.

D.J Caruso (Eagle Eye/Disturbia) is set to direct and UFC champion Conor McGregor will be making his acting debut.

I’ve got to be honest – I’m not a fan of xXx.

The first film did well at the Box Office, but the sequel bombed.

While I have no issues with the action sequences, to get me into a cinema seat for a third time they’re going to have to spare no expense when it comes to the script.

MAD MAX

Mad Max director George Miller spoke to Entertainment Weekly about a possible Furiosa movie following the success of Fury Road.

He said: “She's a pretty compelling character so it'd be great to tell her story.

"Her backstory is pretty interesting, we only allude to it in this movie. This movie is on the run, people don't have much time for recreational talk. You have a sense of her having gone through stuff, that's what the movie is trying to do.”

I’d happily welcome a Furiosa film, especially if Charlize Theron was returning to the role.

I really enjoyed Fury Road – it did exactly what the trailer promised. For the sequel I’d appreciate a bit more ‘chat’ though.

Rebound by Aga Lesiewicz:

Life is good for Anna Wright. She's a successful media executive working for one of the UK's largest TV corporations.

She's got a great boyfriend, some close friends and a lovely home. She adores her dog, Wispa, and she loves to run to help her de-stress.

But Anna's perfect life starts to crumble from the moment when, out jogging on the Heath one day, she meets a handsome stranger. She takes a route into unfamiliar territory, and then she has to face the consequences.

There's a dark, growing creepiness as the atmosphere becomes unsettled and, as Anna's professional life becomes increasingly pressured and poisonous, her obsession with the intriguing stranger intensifies.

EMMA STONE

Emma Stone is in negotiations to play Cruella de Vil in the upcoming Disney film, Cruella.

If all goes ahead, this is inspired casting.

I’m assuming the movie will be similar to Angie Jolie’s Maleficent in that we’ll be shown the iconic villainess’ backstory and by the end we’ll be rooting for her – despite trying to murder 101 Dalmatians.

Stone has got great comedy timing and has the screen presence to smash this role.

ONCE UPON A TIME

Wes Brown (90210/Hart of Dixie) has been cast as Gaston in Once Upon a Time.

Sage Brocklebank previously played the role in the first season before Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) turned him into a rose when he tried to win back Belle (Emilie de Ravin).

I used to love this television show, but I stopped watching at season three. If they promote Mulan (Jamie Chung) to series regular I might start watching again.

TWIN PEAKS

It’s yet to be officially confirmed, but it looks like Sherilyn Fenn will be returning to play Audrey Horne in the new instalment of Twin Peaks.

Audrey, the troubled femme fatal from the original series, is expected to have a major presence in the storyline.

Sherilyn’s former castmate Kyle MacLachlan will be returning to Showtime’s revival as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper.

Sheryl Lee, who played the iconic role of Laura Palmer, has also been photographed on David Lynch’s set, however Lara Flynn Boyle has reportedly opted not to come back as best pal Donna Hayward.

I genuinely cannot wait for this.

I was about 11-years-old when I first saw the infamous picture of dead Laura Palmer wrapped in plastic sheeting. I was completely mesmerised by it. Now that I come to think of it, I’m not sure what that says about me.

I was too young at the time to appreciate or understand Twin Peaks when it first aired in the early 90s, but since then I’ve watched the show and accompanying movie, Fire Walk with Me.

I actually watched Fire Walk with Me when I was 12, not realising it was a companion movie to the show. I didn’t have a clue what was going on, but because I’d watched it before the TV show I then knew who the killer was. Idiot.

I’m going to stay away from spoilers from the new series because I want to be surprised and soak in the show’s mysterious ambiance – of which I’m sure there will be plenty.
