Florence Welch gave her dad Nick the birthday sing along of a lifetime at her gig at the Apple Music Festival tonight, as she led her fans in an epic rendition of Happy Birthday.
“Thank you so much for everything, I’m so glad you’re here tonight,” she said, recalling how before the band had made it big he drove them around the United Kingdom, Germany and France in his campervan while they toured as a support act.
Welch and her band, Florence And The Machine, closed the 10-day music festival in spectacular style. Fans of the red haired songstress certainly seemed to thoroughly enjoy her energetic set.
With her trademark bare feet, she greeted fans at Camden’s Roundhouse saying: “Hello everyone! It’s so nice, I can see everyone. We are Florence And The Machine, thanks for having us.”
Florence looked like a true goddess in a shimmery two-piece suit, at one point jumping on the railings to greet the lucky crop of fans who obtained tickets.
During her hit song Dog Days Are Over she encouraged everyone to take off an item of clothing and swing it around their heads.
She came back on for an encore to perform a few more songs, among them new single What Kind Of Man.
Look. At. Her. Go.
Soulful newcomer and hat fan James Bay was due to open for her, but sadly had to pull out at the last second. Bay took to Twitter to apologise to his fans and explain that he’d recently caught a nasty bug.
No replacement stepped in to perform in his place, leaving Welch and her band to come on stage at 9pm.
The Apple Music Festival has seen acts such as One Direction, Little Mix. Ellie Goulding, Take That and Pharrell Williams perform to fans who were lucky enough to win tickets to see them.
