Michael Shannon has revealed General Zod will return with a new look in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

The Superman villain died at the end of Man Of Steel and is seen briefly in the trailer for Batman v Superman as a corpse.

But Michael let slip to Vulture he does return in the film as he revealed how got into a tight spot on the set.

The 99 Homes star recalled: “I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands.

“So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, ‘Where’s Shannon? Where the f*** is he?’ and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, ‘Let me out of here!’.”

Michael revealed he was eventually rescued by the craft-service guy.

“He was actually paying attention to what was going on. He came over and he opened the door for me. Otherwise I would have gotten fired.”

But pressed on whether Zod will return as villain Doomsday in the new movie, Michael became evasive.

He teased: “Well, I haven’t seen the trailer either, so I don’t know what I am in the trailer. I could be a toaster, or a Porsche, I don’t know.”

Batman v Superman opens in cinemas in March 2016.
