Who will take on Pamela Anderson's role in the Baywatch movie?

Pammie rose to fame as the curvaceous lifeguard in the hit TV show. The male lead in the revamp – action star Dwayne Johnson – recently revealed that “the most gorgeous actresses and models in the world” were keen to take on the role.

But whoever wins the role will certainly have big shoes – or should we say a small swimsuit – to fill.

Here’s our top five predictions and the reasons we feel they’d be perfect to star alongside Dwayne and Zac Efron in the remake of the 90s classic…

1. Kelly Brook

Her screen debut in Piranha 3D demonstrated key confidence when prancing in a bikini.

With her ex-boyfriends including rugby hunk Thom Evans and former Gladiator David McIntosh, she is used to operating around solid six packs. The ability to keep concentration in such close proximity to golden abdominals is another important skill required for Baywatch.

We would love to see this bouncy brunette go over to the blonde side again.

2. Kate Upton

This one is a no brainer. If director Seth Gordon wants a CJ who uncannily resembles the original (you don’t even have to squint) Kate Upton seems like the natural choice.

This beauty is an American bombshell and therefore has already spent a lot of time on the West Coast’s sandy beaches. This will have equipped the lady with strong calf muscles, hugely important for those long sandy runs, and ensures she is no stranger to sun safety – no lifeguard goes anywhere without a hat and sunscreen…

3. Sophie Turner

Renowned as one of our favourite Game Of Thrones characters, Sansa Stark, we are super excited to hear whispers on the wind of this English rose becoming CJ, the American beauty.

The arduous challenges faced during Sansa’s treacherous departure from Winterfell mean that this actress is no stranger to playing the strong, independent female – we all know that courage is key when saving lives on the sand.

. 4. Charlotte McKinney

Knowing your “starboard” from your “port” could be the difference between life or death if you ever have to head further out into the Californian waters. In this picture we see that Charlotte is equipped with some pretty mighty sealegs meaning that no scenes will be cut short due to seasickness.

5. Jessica Simpson

Bring back those boots! We’re desperate to see one of Hollywood’s favourite blondes back on the scene and feel that saving a couple of lives on a balmy summer’s day is a role simply made for Jessica.

Considering her all-too-brief musical career she could even sing the theme tune!
