Will Smith is to help reboot The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.

The Men In Black actor will produce the modern-day adaptation of the hit 90s comedy, in which he starred as troublemaker Will “The Fresh Prince” Smith.

Sources told TVLine that Will, his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and their company Overbrook Entertainment is in very early stages of developing the new version, which would put a new spin on the story.

Details over the remake are being kept under wraps, with another source telling Variety that the project would be a completely new show with different characters.

The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air launched then-rapper Will’s acting career and introduced him to his wife. The show ran for six series from 1990 until it ended in 1996.

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that the network was not involved with the project, but would “be happy to talk to Will about it”.

Will was reunited with his co-stars Alfonso Ribeiro, who played his cousin Carlton Banks, and DJ Jazzy Jeff on The Graham Norton Show, where they performed Carlton’s famous dance.
