Blur bass guitarist Alex James says he’s loving the band’s return to the stage as a foursome, and that their first three shows have been “absolutely nuts”.
Blur’s comeback tour has already got off to a sizzling start, after fans got so excited they broke a barrier at the band’s show in Blackpool earlier this week.
How have fans reacted to tracks from the band’s new album, The Magic Whip? Extremely well, according to James.
“It’s just been bonkers and brilliant, and it’s fantastic having a new record to play,” he said, chatting at the Isle of Wight festival where the band headlined on Saturday.
“People are just absolutely loving it, the record has had universally brilliant reviews.
“It’s great playing the new songs, and it’s great firing up the old ones as well.”
