British actor Idris Elba is replacing Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx in new movie The Trap.
The film from controversial writer and director Harmony Korine is a gangster drama that will also star Benicio Del Toro.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Luther’s Idris will now replace Jamie in the tale of two childhood friends, one of whom grows up to be very successful, while the other spends most of his life behind bars. When the latter gets out of jail he decides to seek revenge.
Al Pacino, Robert Pattinson and James Franco are all said to be in talks for supporting roles.
James starred in Harmony’s controversial Spring Breakers with Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, about a group of teens who rob a diner to get the money to go on a Spring Break holiday to Miami, where they befriend a gangster.
John Lesher, producer of the Oscar-winning Birdman, is working on production for The Trap.
