Mark Schultz, whose story was dramatised in Foxcatcher, has issued an apology to filmmaker Bennett Miller for his outspoken comments about the movie.

The 54-year-old wrestler, portrayed in the film by Channing Tatum, claimed he was “temporarily insane” when he made the remarks about the Oscar-nominated drama, which stars Mark Ruffalo as his brother Dave and Steve Carell as his brother’s killer John du Pont.

Having hit out at the director over alleged historical inaccuracies earlier this year, Mark took to Twitter to apologise for his criticisms.

Mark heaped praise on the filmmaker and cast.

Mark, who has since published his version of the events, previously wrote that the film was inaccurate.

The film has garnered a few awards, including best director at the Cannes Film Festival. It is up for five Oscars including best actor for Steve, best supporting actor for Mark and best director for Bennett.
