American rockers defy the terrorists who cut short the European tour, by returning to Europe to finish their dates and play Reading Festival
Rock band Eagles Of Death Metal have this afternoon announced a series of live shows, rescheduled after their last tour was cut short by the November 13 terror attacks at the Bataclan Theatre in Paris.
The US band will return to Europe in February to complete their postponed tour - with an exclusive UK festival date at the Reading & Leeds Festivals in August.
The band will also return to Paris, where 90 gig-goers were killed during the band's set. They will play the city's Olympia Theatre, as the Bataclan remains closed.
The band's frontman Jesse Hughes says: “The people of Paris have always been incredible to us, and our feeling of love towards this beautiful city and its people has been reinforced a million times over this past month.
"Hearing the stories of the survivors, the injured and those who have lost loved ones has been overwhelming.
"Not returning to finish our set was never an option. We look forward to coming back in February and continuing our mission to bring rock ‘n’ roll to the world.”
Reading Festival takes place beside the Thames, at Little John's Farm, from August 26-28.
EODM will join a billwhich already includes The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The 1975 and Courteeners.
Fans who were at the Bataclan show on November 13 will be entitled to a free ticket for the rescheduled Paris date on February 16, and are being told to contact their original ticket supplier between January 5-20 to claim their ticket.
Fans who previously bought tickets for the remaining European dates will have a pre-sale window beginning tomorrow to re-purchase their re-funded tickets. They will need to provide proof of original purchase.
