Glaswegian indie-pop band Del Amitri are back after 10 years away

Has it really been a decade since we last heard of Del Amitri?

It certainly has, but the Glaswegian indie-pop band are back from their 10 year sabbatical with their original line-up (and their original crew) to present a greatest hits-style show going back over 30 years – and trawling through their four top 10 albums and numerous radio-friendly hits.

Centre stage on this ‘A to Z of Us’ tour are singer and bassist Justin Currie and guitarist Iain Harvie, who will be chucking out the likes of Nothing Ever Happens, Kiss This Thing Goodbye and Always The Last To Know.

“The A to Z of Us will take a retrospective sweep of our entire output, from indie art-pop through folk-tinged balladry to hairy Brit-rock chuggery,” says Currie, who pitches up with his band at the New Theatre next Wednesday. “Whenever anyone asked if Del Amitri would ever re-form,” says Harvie. “Our standard response was ‘We never broke up – the phone just stopped ringing’.” Thankfully for fans, someone found their number!

Doors open at 7pm. Tickets cost £36-£46 plus booking fee.
