Award-winning jazz pianist to top bill at Great Tew Park.

Headlining the Friday is soulful jazz pianist and singer Jamie Cullum, who is joined by differently-soulful 80s dance act Soul II Soul, Brit-winning Fame Academy alumnus Lemar, and rock ‘n’ roll survivor Wilko Johnson.

Also playing the festival. Which takes place at Great Tew Park, near Chipping Norton (not at Cornbury Park) from July 8-10, are ska veterans The Beat along with Norwich four-piece Port Isla and Lancastrian indie-pop act The Lottery Winners.

The presence of Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson will delight Cornbury-goers.

the Essex pub-rocker, considered one of the founding fathers of punk, played the 10th installment of the event in 2013 on what was billed as his farewell tour.

At the time he was suffering from what he feared was terminal cancer. he subsequently had the tumor removed in an 11-hour operation and has now declared himself free of cancer.

For the first time, the Friday will feature a full day of music, with the arena opening at 9am and artists performing from 11am.

Festival director Hugh Phillimore predicted a lucky 13th year for the festival, but declined to say who he had lined up for the other two days. He said: “Spookily we’ve got our best three-day festival line-up for our 13th year, and it’s a huge relief to be able to get at least one day off my chest!”

He said more names would be announced in the new year.

Discounts of 30 per cent are still available for earlybird discounts on Friday tickets, costing £50 for an adult, or £5 for a child.
