Overwhelming response to comeback, prompts reformed band to announce more live dates

REUNITED indie-rockers Ride say they have been so taken aback by the response to their comeback tour, they are going back on the road.
The Oxford band, who only confirmed their reunion in November, have already
delighted fans on a UK tour which began at Oxford’s O2 Academy, before moving on to mainland Europe and North America.

Earlier this month band members Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence ‘Loz’ Colbert and Steve Queralt headlined London's Field Day festival - their first UK festival date for more than 20 years. The band announced that they had been amazed by the response and were looking forward to "a whole year of touring".

This evening, a fresh tranche of live dates have been revealed for October - coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the release of the band’s debut album Nowhere.

The album, released in October 1990, was the Creation record label's first ever Top 75 album, reaching 11 in the charts, and earning plaudits from fans and industry insiders. It includes classic tunes Vapour Trail, Dreams Burn Down and Polar Bear.

There are no Oxford dates on the new tour; the nearest shows to their hometown being London’s O2 Academy Brixton, Bristol's Anson Rooms and the Birmingham Institute.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday from ridemusic.net, ticketweb.co.uk or by calling 0844 477 2000.
