* What did you think?

It’s the kind of place where you know what to expect.

The food arrives quickly, it has big portions and a menu packed full of meat and chips.

It was perfect for me because I just wanted to eat as much meat as possible. There were also unlimited refills from the Coke machine which was pretty cool, except the drinks were way too concentrated and weren’t fizzy at all.

You had to find your own table and then order at the bar though which was a bit weird.

* What did you have?

I had chicken goujons for starter with barbeque and ranch dips (£4.09) and they were alright.

They were cooked a bit too long in the deep fat fryer though, and that affected the texture a lot as they became very dry.

For mains I had the ribs and chicken combo which came with chips, barbecue sauce and coleslaw (£11.29).

That was pretty good although the chicken was stringy and quite dry and the ribs overcooked, but I wasn’t bothered because that’s what I expected.

For dessert I had a chocolate chip cookie sundae (£3.99), which was nice because it had actual cookie in it but the ice cream was very tasteless.

* Who did you go with?

My family. My brother had the nachos (£3.99) which he hated because the crisps were warm and a bit black with unmelted cheese on them and cold dips, not to mention the salsa which was like a pasta sauce and really horrible. Then he had The New Yorker (£8.99), a burger with bacon, melted cheese and burger sauce with coleslaw and chips, which he enjoyed but said was a bit sloppy.

My sisters loved the children’s menu though because it was all based around The Beano, which they love, and their food (£4.99 for three courses) wasn’t bad.

* Marks out of 10?

Five because the food was pretty dodgy. But it was really meaty and filling with big portions.

* Would you take a girl on a date?

No because it’s more like a McDonald’s restaurant.
