Door 74s Ben Whyles and Oli's Thai's Rufus and Ladd Thurston have opened Arbequina Oxford on Cowley Road in the premises of the Ben's former restaurant Door 74. It has a tapas based menu and might be easier to get into than Oli's Thai, which has a three month waiting list, for the moment anyway.

Mamma Mia Pizzeria in Summertown has been nominated for a prestigious national industry award in the ‘Independent Pizza Restaurant’ Category at the Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Industry Awards. Winners will be announced at the PAPA Awards Dinner taking place tonight at the Lancaster London Hotel, Hyde Park.

The Black Horse in Standlake is now open under the ownership of Few Inns Ltd, proprietors of the Bell also in Standlake and the Boot Inn Barnard Gate. Its kitchen is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, but is scheduled to re-open very soon. The Bell is currently closed due to a fire.

Head Chef Ben Bullen and his team from the Magnolia Brasserie at Faringdon's Sudbury House Hotel are delighted to have been awarded 2 AA Rosettes. The Magnolia Brasserie opened its doors in June 2014 and Ben's appointment was his first venture as Head Chef. The Magnolia Brasserie, the less formal restaurant at Sudbury House, has a mix of Mediterranean style and classic British dishes on the menu.

Dominic Chapman is formerly Head Chef of Heston Blumenthal’s Michelin-starred Hinds Head (Bray) and Michael Parkinson’s Michelin-awarded Royal Oak. Now Chef Proprietor of the acclaimed Beehive in White Waltham, Dominic Chapman brings a wealth of experience to The Feathers, having worked in restaurants around the world for more than 20 years.

Dominic earned his own Michelin star in 2010 through his affinity with India and its contribution to British food culture.
