* There must be something in the water but Oxford’s restaurants are having a massive shake-up in the next few weeks with openings, revamps and relaunches galore.

We’ll start with Soho House Farmhouse opening in July in the heart of the 125-acre Great Tew Estate near Chipping Norton. Accommodation comprises of 40 log cabins spread around lakes with the main farmhouse available for groups, and the cottage for more intimate parties.

Guests can enjoy roaming the grounds, catching the latest feature at the Electric Barn, treating themselves in our Cowshed Spa or making their way to the Boathouse for drink, food and a swim.

* Thaikhun’ the new Thai street food restaurant is opening on George Street on Friday, May 1. Expect fantastic food, cocktails and a funky interior. Should be a big hit.

* The Aziz is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Cowley Road with a new menu, cocktails and an Indian sparkling wine. Expect rural country dishes and even a craft beer made in Headington.

* The Magdalen Arms has manicured its oudoor patio and transformed it into an amazing space, just in time for the summer. Enjoy.

* The Hog Roast Cafe on Hogacre Common Eco Park, off Whitehouse Road, Oxford, is reopening on Sunday May 3, and is looking for volunteers to help run the cafe.

* Brasserie Blanc Oxford is celebrating the opening of its beautiful new-look restaurant on Wednesday. The Perch in Binsey is also reopening at the end of the month after being closed for most of the year. And the Nut Tree in Murcott has had a big revamp and is re-opening for May.

* Nicholson’s Beer Festival, is taking place at The Chequers, Crown and Eagle and Child from today until May 10, showcasing the best in cask ales and speciality beers.
