We do get goodies sent into the office, some good, some bad. Here are our recommendations after much tasting and munching, of some of the best new products out there which you might not have heard of... yet.

* Tried the new Mornflake Nutella and Lyles Golden Syrup pots? My children fought over them and they disappeared immediately. Just an easier way to eat porridge with a good enticement thrown in for good measure. Perfect for these cold, winter mornings. £1.19 each.

* Chai Xpress teas contain no preservatives or no artificial flavourings, perfect for your New Year detox, ahem. £2.49 from Sainsbury’s.

* Cavendish Cooks is a new company offering a delivery service of delicious home-made ready meals, freshly made and frozen. Proper home cooking and great for busy mums and the time-starved, who don’t want to miss out on healthy home cooking. Offerings include boeuf bourguignon, smoked haddock spelt risotto, salmon en croute and beef wellington, expertly cooked in small batches. Main dishes are priced from £4.20 (minimum order £35). The meals are then delivered to your door next day. All you need to do is pop them in the freezer. www.cavendishcooks.co.uk

* Vimto Squeezy – a brand new water enhancer (super concentrated squash) and another big hit at home. Small and tasty it comes in Original, Cherry and Strawberry flavours with no added sugar, and the tiny 50ml bottle provides 25 servings, meaning no more bulky bottles.

* Charlie Bigham’s meals are stocked in your local Sainsbury’s or Waitrose. We tried the Chicken Tikka Masala and a Chicken Korma one of their rapidly growing range of handmade meals for two. Delicious.

Not only that, it also boasts a ‘Nourishing Happiness’ pledge, which means for every wa! soup bought a child in poverty, anywhere in the world, gets fed with a healthy meal. www.wacuisine.com

* The lovely people at Lindt not only let us sample their new bar of salty caramel chocolate, but also sent us a milk chocolate Maxi Ball which needless to say, didnt last long. Its eye-catching exterior and collection of bite-sized truffles inside did the trick! £14.99 is all good supermarkets

* M&S is doing a tempting Christmas breakfast with a mulled wine spiced fruit loaf, strawberry & champagne conserve , crystallised stem ginger curd, orkney kiln smoked salmon, clementine, cranberry & pomegranate juice, clementine, cranberry & pomegranate bucks fizz, raisins in dark rum syrup for christmas morning porridge and even some christmas tea and christmas coffee. www.marksandspencer.com/Food

* Whittard’s Christmas selection boxes have had us drooling. The box they arrived in burst filling the office with the sweet smell of chocolate orange hot chocolate powder, a smell we never get bored of. The Dark Chocolate Salted Caramels were obviously another big hit as was the After Dinner Coffee Kilner Tin containing darkly roasted After Dinner Coffee blends beans from Colombia and Brazil.

* Thomas J Fudge’s launched its savoury range of biscuits in November. My favourite are the Milk Chocolate Florentines. No one else got any of those! In selected Waitrose stores.
