Also out this week but not yet screened to critics is The Hangover Part III (15).
For the third and final chapter of Todd Phillips’ alcohol and drug fuelled bender, which has been a smash hit at the box office, the characters are caught in a race against time to save one of the gang from a grim fate.
Alan Garner (Zach Galifianakis) suffers a mental breakdown in the aftermath of his father’s death so best friends Phil Wenneck (Bradley Cooper), Stu Price (Ed Helms) and Doug Billings (Justin Bartha) lead an intervention, telling Alan they will drive him to the New Horizons medical facility, from which he will emerge “a new man”.
En route, a mysterious thug (John Goodman) and his henchman kidnap Doug, tell the remaining three that if they want to see their friend again, they must track down criminal Mr Chow (Ken Jeong) and the stolen $21m in his possession.
Thus, Alan, Phil and Stu spearhead a mission to save their friend, reuniting with familiar faces including Jade (Heather Graham) along the way. Expect profanity, gun play and a sticky demise for an unsuspecting giraffe.
