Hooray for air conditioning and fans!! I can’t imagine life without them now. I wish England would adopt the very civilised tradition of siestas when the weather is this hot. The reduced energy levels when you’re pregnant are tough at the best of times but in this heat, everything is even more of an up hill struggle. Would they notice if I slid under my desk for a couple of hours at lunch time?!
As due date seems to be rapidly approaching, the reality of life on one salary is beginning to dawn on us!! We’ve given our finances a good overhaul and it’s amazing what we’ve saved. We’ve swapped bank accounts, changed to 0% transfer credit cards, sold lots on EBay and reviewed mobile phone deals. Shockingly I discovered that for the last 4 ½ years I’d been paying £7.99 a month for a mobile phone insurance that I knew nothing about. Luckily though, as they couldn’t produce a document with my signature authorising it, they have refunded me £400!! Serves me right for not having a tighter hold on my finances but it was perfect timing to have a bit of a windfall.
With all these baby clothes and equipment we’ve been buying, we’ve had to declutter our house too. I was amazed that after ruthlessly rummaging in my wardrobes, I was able to give 11 bin bags of clothes to a charity shop!! At least they’ve gone to a good cause.
See you at next week’s “Spog Blog” – as it has now been affectionately referred to at home! I’ve got my next scan tomorrow so I’m very excited!
