Well I'm 32, this is my first baby and I am co-habiting.
This baby was very much wanted and planned for - I always like to clarify this as people always wonder be it that we're not married!
I've gone from a professional recruitment consultant to sometimes feeling like a vulnerable, emotional blob!
What took me by surprise is how pregnancy effects every part of your body from your hair to your toe nails. I'm 19 weeks with a very distinctive bump. I'm due to feel the baby move and it will feel like fluttering butterflies or bubbles.
Several times now I've nearly wept at what quickly transpired to be a fart!
This baby is known by several names already - Spud (due to it's father's Irish parents) or Pip.
When explaining to my young nieces that I was pregnant but it would be a long wait - it was currently only the size of an apple pip - the name Pip has stuck.
We're going to leave the sex as a surprise. I imagined naming the baby to be a beautiful experience but it isn't.
In a book with 3000 baby names - I highlighted 5 which my partner immediately turned his nose up at. I haven't even approached the issue of what surname yet?
Carrying a baby is truly the most wonderful, unique and special experience of my life. Sharing it with a loving partner and family makes me the happiest person in the world!
